Welcome

I am Wendy, of Wendy Glos Art. I live at the edge of a small oceanside town called Port McNeill on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. My surroundings greatly impact my art.  Daily nature walks, intoxicating whiffs of ocean air, and the reality of living amongst predator animals, all play a part in my work.

Enjoy my painted paradise. Embrace nature and heed her beckoning calls. My hope is that you find joy and inspiration to enrich your life with vibrancy as you venture into my wild reality.

" When painting, I am in a joyful state and dance within the unlimiting universe."

My Story

I was born creative, as we all were.  My working years were spent in the fields of cosmetics, travel counselling, and then speech language pathology.  Creating was always in the background, playing violin, doing metalsmithing, dabbling in painting.  I moved from Ontario and made Vancouver Island, British Columbia my home 20 years ago, relocating for work.  Following severe concussion, I retired from my Speech-Language Pathologist career, and began taking online painting classes to rehabilitate my focus and stamina.  Through that process, I healed and fell in love with painting and the power of intuitive flow which painting can evoke.  Living on this magical rock called Vancouver Island has influenced my art.  Creativity seems more accessible where nature is up front and centre in everyday life.  That energy opens up the floodgates of my inspiration.

Describing my style feels so confining.  I paint intuitively, mostly in an expressionist style with abstracted themes inspired by nature.  I do not limit my inspiration to regional botanicals and animals.  Instead my imagery flows in a spontaneous way with whatever motifs are called to have a role in my creative expression.  When painting, I am in a joyful state and dance within the unlimited universe.
